I like using Orcas (especially now that they look more realistic thanks to Sophies reskin/remake). Other favorites include American Alligators, Flamingos, Rhinoceros', Elephants (Asiatic or African) and maybe some Sharks.

In freeform, I have so many animals available that I try to avoid using the same ones over. In Challenge mode, I always like to pick up Artifex's Vancouver Island Marmots. I love those little guys and they get a lot of donations. Back when I was running through the scenarios, I frequent had a marmot-based economy and if I ever lost all my marmots my zoo stopped making a profit.

i like to start off making zoo's by putting the least popular animals at the front. Then the rare exciting ones near the back. So the guests go further to see the best animals

I love using all the Savannah animals the most. I mean there are so many of them there are like a million different exhibit choices. Also they are all so recognizable animals that you hardly don't know what they are and that makes me comfortable. Also they are perfect for the safari jeep tours and they have a theme that goes with them which makes it easy to make guest areas with them. So overall I would have to say Savvanah animals but I am very partial to Lions specifically for all the above reasons though I don't usually put other animals in with them!!
