Parque Tropical is a tropical zoo located in Rio de Janeiro, this zoo has got lots of tropical animals and it's specialized in Monkeys. Lots of monkey are housed in the zoo, from the small cotton-top tamarin to the huge Gorilla. The zoo has also got the playful Amazone River Dolphin and the spectacular Sumatran Rhinoceros.
Cotton-top Tamarin and Golden Lion Tamarin outdoor exhibit This is the home of a small group Cotton-top Tamarins, they are really cute and playful. Guests really love to watch them and are always impressed when a tamarin walks through the tunnel which ends in their inside exhibit. The Tamarins were rescued from a lab in Brasil, where they were used to test deodorant. This caused that several tamarins had breathing problems. Happily enough, the vet of Parque Tropical could cure them and the monkeys are healthy and energetic now. The Golden Lion Tamarins were already housed in Parque Tropical and it was decided that the Cotton-top tamarins could join their exhibit, and it turned out really well.
